Court overturns conviction, faults judge’s behavior
The state appeals court on Friday rejected Santa Clara County Superior Court Judge Joyce Allegro’s handling of a 2006 case marked by bitter court exchanges in which the judge threatened to physically gag a defendant before finally ordering her taken into custody.
