Two New Jersey Cardiologists Guilty of Embezzlement Charges
Dr. Bakul Desai, of Livingston, New Jersey, and Dr. Laxmipathi Garipalli, of Colts Neck, New Jersey, both of whom are private practice cardiologists, pled guilty to embezzling approximately $840,000 in salary from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey while providing no meaningful services in return, other than referring cardiac patients.
